Holistic, comparative approach to the study of humankind that draws on a variety of disciplines such as archaeology, linguistics, and ethnology to understand the nature of culture. Topics include cultural diversity and adaptive strategies, language, social persona, marriage and kinship, religious beliefs and rituals, politics, economics, art, subsistence types, social change, and issues of cross-cultural contact and cultural survival.
