  • This is a hands-on introductory course. The course is specifically designed as a preliminary personal computer applications course stressing a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel Access PowerPoint and Netscape. Students who have little or no previous experience with the computer should take this course before enrolling in other computer courses. Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to: Identify and use basic features of Microsoft Windows operating system. Perform tasks using features common to all Microsoft Office applications. Use Word to create edit and format documents. Design create modify and format worksheets and workbooks using Excel. Use Access to design databases and create edit and modify database objects. Design, create, enhance, organize and view presentations using PowerPoint. Use the Internet to navigate the Web using URL and Hyperlinks, to create and delete bookmarks, to compose, view, send, receive and print e-mail messages. 3 hours each week 3 credits
