The information presented is an unofficial guide to how courses may transfer. If you complete the following at Allegany College of Maryland:

  • A study of the fundamental principles of chemistry, including the structure of matter, the periodic table, energy relationships, and the chemistry of some of the common elements and their compounds. Note: Concurrent registration in Mathematics 119 is required if the student is planning to take Chemistry 102.

You may receive up to 4.00 credits at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College:

  • This course is designed to prepare students for more advanced courses in chemistry and science. The lecture portion of the course focuses on the study of the properties of matter and chemical transformations. Topics include: measurement, chemical nomenclature, chemical reactions and stoichiomentry, atomic theory, molecular structure, thermochemistry, and gas laws. The laboratory will reinforce the lecture topics and emphasize safety technique. This course is a first semester course of a two semester sequence.
