3 credits A study of the history of art beginning with prehistoric cave painting and concluding with Gothic art through the fourteenth century. The painting, sculpture, and architecture of the major Western cultures, such as Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Early Christian, Byzantine, and Islamic, are viewed and discussed. Emphasis is on art as a reflection of the culture and society that produced it. Fall
