The information presented is an unofficial guide to how courses may transfer.   • Introduction to American Sign Language, Deaf culture, and to a brief history of sign and culture. Includes development of expressive and receptive sign skills, together with the learning of numbers, sign vocabulary, and the manual alphabet. Class is conducted primarily without voice. Lab required. 4 credit hours.

  • (N=Novice) Introductory course assuming no significant previous experience with the language. Beginners and students with less than two years of high school language should register for this class. Emphasis on everyday conversation and exposure to cultural perspectives.
