Since offering its first classes at area high schools in 1985, Collin College has expanded to serve about 53,000 credit and continuing education students each year. The only public college in the county, the college offers more than 100 degrees and certificates in a wide range of disciplines.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    Submit an official transcript from all colleges/universities attended. Students who don't have an official transcript including final grades for the current semester will be required to submit a Conditional Admissions Contract.
  • Other Requirements:
    Submit Texas Success Initiative (TSI) documentation. Official course descriptions from the catalog under which the student attended may be required for evaluation.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Grades of “D” are accepted from other institutions; however, a cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required for graduation. Grades of “F” and “I” will not transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    While there is no limit on the number of hours that can be transferred into Collin College from other institutions, there is an 18 credit hour residency requirement to earn an associate degree from Collin College.
