  • ART 2410 Ceramics I (2L,4LB,3CR) [E] This is an introductory class in the fundamentals of traditional and contemporary ceramic making by means of hand building and throwing on the wheel. Students study some of the rich history and traditions of ceramics as well as decorating techniques and different firing possibilities.

You may receive up to 3.00 credits at Northwest College:

  • Students acquire beginning skills in handbuilding, glazing, and firing processes in ceramic arts. Emphasis is placed on handbuilding construction methods: pinch, coil, slab, 3D design elements decorating techniques, firing styles, and examination of historical and contemporary ceramic sculpture. (2 hrs lec, 4 hrs lab)
