BIO 150, Biology I, is an introduction to the principles of biology, with emphasis on biological organization at the cellular level. Concepts covered include cell biology, including early evolution of cellular life, cell structure and function, metabolism, and reproduction; genetics, and gene regulation in bacteria and eukaryotes. The laboratory experiments complement lectures. This is a first year college course designed to help students develop a strong foundation in the natural or physical sciences.
