  • The goal of the AP Environmental Science course is to provide students with the scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies required to understand the interrelationships of the natural world, to identify and analyze environmental problems both natural and human-made, to evaluate the relative risks associated with these problems, and to examine alternative solutions for resolving and/or preventing them.

You may receive up to 4.00 credits at Butler County Community College:

  • This non-majors course provides the student with an introduction to air, water, and soil phenomena. Such topics as ozone depletion, acid rain, and the global warming are studied. National and global environmental impacts are debated using current events as examples. Laboratory experiments plus fieldwork will reinforce concepts discussed in lecture. This course meets the General Education competency of Scientific Reasoning (SR).
