This course is designed to provide an understanding of the structure and function of the human body. Basic concepts are emphasized and the following systems are studied in detail: integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, and special senses. The laboratory work involves related physiology exercises and the dissection of the cat and its comparison to man. Required of all Nursing students.

This course introduces the student to the structure and function of the human body. This is a semester long introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology and prepares the student for Human Anatomy and Physiology II. Course topics will include the organization of the body at the molecular, cellular, and tissue levels and homeostatic mechanisms associated with the endocrine, integumentary, skeletal, muscle, and nervous systems. Prerequisites: BIO 104/114 Principles of Biology I Lecture/Lab or TEAS Test score Academic Preparedness Level of Proficient or better or high school biology within the last five years. Co-requisite BIO212 Human Anatomy and Physiology 1 Lab 3 credits
