  • For science majors. Study of structure and function of plants. Includes plant cells, tissues, organs, an evolutionary survey, and life histories of algae, fungi, mosses, liverworts, ferns and seedproducing plants. Plants' reproductive and functional interactions with their environment and with man. Lab required. Prerequisite: BIOL 1406 or BIOL 1408.4 credit hours. *This course is also offered through the Center for Advanced Study In Mathematics and Natural Sciences (CASMNS).   • CRT HRS:04 LEC HRS:03 LAB HRS:03 This is a study of structure and function of plant cells, tissues and organs. This course includes an evolutionary survey and life histories of the following representative groups: algae, fungi, mosses, liveworts, ferns and seed producing organisms. Plant reproduction and functional interactions with their environment and with humans are covered. It includes selected laboratory exercises. Prerequisite: A passing score of 78+ on the Reading ACCUPLACER Exam or equivalent; or completion of READ 0090 with a grade of "C" or better.
