Undergrad average cost of attendance: $17,887 (resident living w/ family); $23,245 (resident on campus); $24,615 (resident off campus). UTRGV has guaranteed four-year tuition rates for resident and non-resident students.

Technical/Vocation Credit Accepted:
Coursework typically described as vocational or technical are not designed for transfer into university curricula even when courses have been taken at a community college as part of a certificate program or an AAS degree.
Credit For Life Experience:
Normally, no credit will be awarded for life experience. Exceptions to this rule may include cases where the credit has been validated either by another regionally accredited institution or a test administered by UTRGV.

Transfer Application Requirements
Minimum GPA:
A minimum GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is required of transfer applicants.
Official Transcripts:
Submit official transcripts from each college or university attended. If you are a TRANSFER student with 0-23 earned hours, submit your official final high school transcript or High School equivalency certificate (GED).
SAT Scores:
While test scores are not required for an admission decision, test scores are required for Tuition Advantage and are highly encouraged for Scholarships, College of Engineering Admissions, Biomedical Program Admissions, etc.
Letters of Recommendation:
A statement of good standing from prior institutions may be required of some applicants.

Transfer Credit Policy
Minimum Grade:
The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is D. Some general education or degree requirements require a higher grade.
Credits (Min/Max):
Students must complete at least 25% of the earned credit hours required for the degree through instruction offered by UTRGV. Transfer students may be required to complete additional hours above those on their degree plan to meet this requirement.
