Information for Transfer In Students

  • Accepts Transfers:
    Yes. Transfer credit less than 10 years old from any regionally accredited higher education institution offering comparable courses is accepted. Credit from institutions not regionally accredited may require additional supporting documentation.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Only coursework less than 10 years old with a grade of "C" or higher may be considered for transfer. Coursework must also closely parallel courses offered by WTC. For students planning to transfer into the ADN-RN or Practical Nursing program, BIO-210, BIO-211, and BIO-225 must be no older than five years with a minimum grade of "C" or higher.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts must be sent to the attention of Dr. Alexis Dubose, Associate VP for Student Affairs, at the college address before coursework may be accepted. Visit the WTC website for additional information or call (843)-355-4162.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Generally, letters of recommendation are not required except for students transferring into the nursing programs (diploma or degree). Visit the WTC website for additional requirements or call (843) 355-4146 and speak to the Dean of Health Sciences.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    A grade of "C" or higher is required for transfer credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    There is no maximum number of credits which can be accepted for transfer; however, students must complete at least 25% of the coursework from WTC to be eligible to graduate in a certificate, diploma, or associate degree program.
