  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    All transfer students are reviewed for merit scholarships. Awards are based on a student's cumulative GPA and major. The scholarship amounts range from $5,500-$12,500 per year. A minimum of 12 transferable credits are required for consideration.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Students must have at least a 2.00 cumulative GPA (3.00 for Nursing) for admission consideration. If a student has attended multiple institutions, the admission decision will be based on a cumulative GPA from all institutions.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Widener requires the submission of official transcripts from every postsecondary school attended. Official high school transcripts are required if you have less than 12 hours of transferrable credit.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have less than 12 hours of transferrable credit, the submission of official standardized test scores is required.
  • Essay:
    The submission of an essay or personal statement is not required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is no fee to apply.
  • Interview:
    Interviews are not required, although they are offered. Please contact the Office of Admissions at 610-499-4126 to arrange an appointment. When on campus, you may also want to consider taking a campus tour!
  • Other Requirements:
    There will be a transfer course equivalency report included in the acceptance packet. Students must submit course descriptions for an unofficial evaluation.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Students must earn a grade of C or higher in order for credit to be transferred into Widener.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Transfer students must complete 50% of their major courses at Widener, and the last 45 credits must be completed at Widener for a Bachelor's degree. A maximum of 64 credits may be transferred from a two-year college and 75 from a four-year college.
