Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    All High School Transcripts requested and mailed (Required of applicants who have graduated from high school within the last two years). All College Transcripts requested and mailed
  • SAT Scores:
    To complete an application for admission, Whitman requires either ACT scores, including the writing test, or SAT scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A School Report Form must be delivered to Advisor or Guidance Counselor. A Teacher Recommendation Form is required.
  • Essay:
    Please provide a statement of 250 – 500 words that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve, and attach it to your application before submission.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $50 fee to apply
  • Interview:
    An interview is optional.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    No transfer credit is applied toward a Whitman degree unless it is of average (C- or 1.7 on a numerical grade scale) or better quality.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A total of 70 credits of advanced standing transferred from other accredited collegiate institutions is the maximum non-Whitman work creditable toward a bachelor's degree.
