  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    Need-based financial aid is granted on a rolling basis, through completion of the FAFSA. You can complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Merit scholarships are awarded annually to transfer students who enroll with at least 12 transfer credits. Students with an associate degree and a 2.5 GPA are guaranteed $18,000 a year through our Transfer Distinction Award. Phi Theta Kappa recipients can receive an additional $2,000 per year.
  • Tuition and Fees:
    Total Full-Time Undergraduate Estimated Cost of Attendance: $54,810 Arts & Sciences; $56,510 Engineering. This includes tuition (12-18 credit hours per term), fees, room & board.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Admission is primarily based on academic achievement, measured by high school and college transcripts. Typically, successful applicants have a college grade point average of a C+ or better after completing at least two full-time semesters. However, all students are reviewed as individuals, with unique and special circumstances surrounding their desire to transfer from their previous institution to Western New England University.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcript(s) from all post-secondary institutions attended are required. Students who have not successfully completed 24 or more credits of college level coursework will be required to submit their high school transcript(s) or GED score.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT or ACT scores are waived if you have successfully completed more than 12 credits or have been out of high school for more than five years.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is required.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required but is recommended.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Normally, credit is allowed for each course that is equivalent to a corresponding course at Western New England University provided that the grade earned is a C- or above, and the course is at the 100 level or above.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    We will accept up to 70 credits from 2-year colleges and up to 90 credits from 4-year colleges. It is necessary for a transfer student to complete at least 30 credit hours of study at the University in order to be granted a degree.
