Financial Information

  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
As part of Western Governors University, WGU Indiana is approved by the U.S. Department of Education to offer federal financial aid. We also offer state financial aid and grant programs to Indiana students. Because of our more affordable tuition, WGU Indiana students are able to graduate without large amounts of student debt to repay. Federal financial aid will cover most, if not all, of your direct education expenses.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
Since WGU does not require entrance exams such as the SAT, ACT, GRE, or GMAT, all incoming students are expected to successfully pass the WGU Collegiate Readiness Assessment. This online test helps determine your readiness for collegiate-level study in an online environment that relies heavily upon writing ability. Your Enrollment Counselor will inform you of when you’re able to take the test once you have applied for admission. Results are typically available by the next day and are relayed to you via email.
  • Official Transcripts:
You are required to submit official transcripts of all prior academic work completed at community colleges, colleges or universities you’ve attended.
  • SAT Scores:
The submission of ACT/SAT scores is not required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
Please speak to an Enrollment Counselor to attain more information pertaining to the enrollment processes. Most programs may not require submission of letters of recommendation.
  • Application Fee:
There is a non-refundable $65 application fee. This fee is waived if you are either faculty, staff or graduate of a partnering community college or partnering institution.
  • Interview:
WGU requires an Intake Interview for enrollment, which is an important “checkpoint” to make sure we have all the correct information for you to begin. This needs to be completed by the 15th of the month prior to your intended start date.
  • Other Requirements:
For undergrad programs, a personal evaluation of your transcripts from prior colleges will be needed to determine whether you will be able to clear any degree requirements. WGU does not accept transfer credit at the graduate (master’s) level.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
Each degree program specifies the "competencies" you must pass to receive your degree. Just having accumulated credits isn’t proof that you have cleared the competencies. Prior courses must be relevant.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
If you have completed college courses but have not earned a degree, a course-by-course transcript evaluation may be conducted to determine if your past education may apply to WGU Indiana requirements.
