  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    Western Connecticut State University offers financial aid to help qualified students meet their educational expenses. The staff of Financial Aid and Student Employment is available to assist students in determining their eligibility for the various sources of aid available.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A 2.0 GPA does not guarantee admission to the University, and students are encouraged to perform to the best of their abilities academically so as to enhance their application for admission. Also please note, some academic programs may have special admission requirements above and beyond the general university admission requirements.
  • Official Transcripts:
    To apply, forward your official transcripts from the colleges or universities you have attended in addition to your official high school transcript.
  • SAT Scores:
    The submission of official standardized test scores is required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Two letters of recommendation are required.
  • Essay:
    There is an optional personal essay.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $50 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    Western Connecticut State University does not publish a requirement for a personal interview.
  • Other Requirements:
    An immunization shot record is required if not on file with WestConn’s Health Service.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Western Connecticut State does not publish a minimum grade requirement for transfer credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    To earn a degree from WestConn, all transfer students must complete a minimum of 30 credits through this University prior to graduation. At least half the credits required in any major must be completed at Western.
