Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A minimum high school grade point averageof 2.25 is required of transfer applicants. A minimum college grade point average of 2.00 is required of transfer applicants.
  • Official Transcripts:
    If applicant has less than 29 credits of transferable college work, then official high school transcripts are needed. Official college transcripts from previously attended institutions are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    If applicant has less than 29 credits of transferable college work, then standardized test scores are required.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required for admission consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    All applications require a nonrefundable application fee: West Virginia resident - $25; Out-of-state - $45; International, Spring and Summer Session 2011 - $50 International, Fall 2011 - $60
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required for admission consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    To assure accurate evaluation of credit, send course descriptions for any courses you have completed and/or in which you are currently enrolled that you feel would need further clarification.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a D or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The max credits accepted for transfer are 72. You must complete 30 credit hours in residence at WVU to earn a bachelor's degree.
