Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer students will be required to have at least 24 transferable credits with grades of C or better, and a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA for all higher education institutions attended and all courses taken.Wayne State's admissions policy no longer includes minimum GPA requirements.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from previously attended institutions are required for admission consideration. Official high school transcripts are required if you have fewer than 12 transferable credits.
  • SAT Scores:
    Wayne State's admissions policy no longer includes ACT requirements.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required for admission consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable $50 fee to apply.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required for admission consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    If you will apply to a professional program at Wayne State (like nursing, social work or pharmacy and health sciences), contact these programs individually for their additional admission requirements.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a D or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    While we will accept an unlimited number of transfer credits from 4-year colleges, only 90 semester credits will apply to your degree. We also accept credits from 2-year colleges and will apply up to 64 semester credits to your degree.
