Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    There is a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for transfer admission consideration.
  • Official Transcripts:
    If you have less than a full year of college credit to transfer, we may ask you to also have your high school transcript (or GED) sent to WSU. Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    f you have less than a full year of college credit to transfer, we may ask you to also have your test scores (SAT or ACT) sent to WSU.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Statement of good standing from prior institution(s) is not required fr admission consideration.
  • Essay:
    It's not mandatory, but a good personal statement may increase your chance of admission -- it gives you the chance to tell us more about yourself and shows us that you can express yourself clearly in writing, which is a skill you'll need in college.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $50 non-refundable fee to apply.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required for admission consideration.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    Depending on the degree and the college, you may be able to get an associate's degree and transfer with credit for all the WSU gen ed requirements; certain two-year degrees can transfer directly into junior standing at WSU.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a D or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The max credits accepted for transfer from a 2-year institution is 73, 90 from a 4-year. You must earn 30 credits at WSU to receive your bachelor's degree.
