    We welcome the submission of applications from transfer students. The number of students admitted varies from semester to semester depending on the current enrollment. Traditionally, more students are admitted for the fall semester than the spring.

  • Transfer Agreements:
    Wake Forest does not maintain articulation agreements with any other college or university - all decisions are made by the chair of the department where credit is being requested as to whether a course will transfer.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    An applicant for admission who has attended another college must have an overall average of at least C on all college work attempted and must either be a graduate of a standard junior college or furnish a certificate of honorable dismissal stating eligibility in all respects to enter the last college attended.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Your final high school transcript, as well as official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions, are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    The submission of standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) is optional.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A Dean's Statement for Transfer Students from each college attended (form included in application) is required.
  • Essay:
    An essay and several short answer questions are required with your application.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable $50 application fee.
  • Interview:
    We strongly encourage all applicants to schedule an on-campus interview. On-campus interviews are available by appointment only beginning June 1.
  • Other Requirements:
    Several Wake Forest departments do NOT accept transfer work from a 2-year community or junior college. You can direct inquiries about this to the appropriate department.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In all cases a student must have earned a grade of "C" or better in order to transfer a course (a "C-" is not transferable).
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    There are limits to the amount of transfer work you can bring into the major. Of the 120 hours required for graduation, at least 60 must be earned in Wake Forest Programs.
