  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    The Office of Financial Aid provides a variety of services to help students afford higher education via grants, work-study employment and loans. The Office of Financial Aid administers and distributes funds from federal, state, institutional and private fund sources. One-on-one appointments are available to students, their parents, faculty and staff. Financial aid funds are applied first to the student’s university bill. Refunds are generated when financial aid exceeds university charges.
  • Tuition and Fees:
    The Student Accounting Department is located at 1015 Floyd Avenue. The department is responsible for the assessment, billing and collection of tuition, room, board and other university fees.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer applicants should present a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 preferred from all accredited institutions to be competitive for admission to VCU.
  • Official Transcripts:
    If you have fewer than 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours), you should submit your high school transcripts. Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges are also required.
  • SAT Scores:
    If under the age of 22, applicants must submit SAT or ACT scores. Some programs may require transfer students to submit SAT or ACT scores regardless of their age.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required; however, it is recommended.
  • Interview:
    An interview may be required of some applicants.
  • Other Requirements:
    Transfer students also are required to have a personal computer.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is C.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A max of 90 credits will be accepted for transfer. You must earn 30 credits in residence at VCU to receive your bachelor's degree. Not more than 50 percent of credits may be accepted in the major field of study.
