    Our admissions process is need-blind for U.S. Citizens and eligible non-citizens. Vanderbilt will meet 100% of a family’s demonstrated financial need. Financial aid awards do not include loans. Instead of offering need-based loans to undergraduate students, Vanderbilt offers additional grant assistance.

    Total Estimated Cost of Attendance: $75,974. This includes tuition, housing, meals, books and supplies, student services fee, personal expenses, and travel allowance.

  • Accepts Transfers:
    Vanderbilt University is always looking to add dynamic, academically motivated students to our residential community – and transfer students are no different. Each fall, approximately 210-220 transfer students join the Vanderbilt Community.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Typically, admitted transfer students have a GPA of a B+/A- or higher.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official college transcript(s) (from ALL institutions attended) Official transcript(s) should include grades from your most recently completed semester and a list of your currently enrolled courses. Official high school transcripts are also required.
  • SAT Scores:
    Standardized test scores may be required by some.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Two academic evaluator letters of recommendation (we prefer that at least one letter come from a college professor/instructor).
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is required.
  • Application Fee:
    $50 nonrefundable application fee, or fee waiver for qualified students
  • Interview:
    Interviews are not offered to transfer applicants.
  • Other Requirements:
    Please complete the Transfer College Report for the same application platform as your transfer application:

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred is C.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    You must earn 60 credit hours at Vanderbilt to earn a bachelor's degree.
