    Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the TU Financial Aid Application as soon as possible after January 1 to be considered for need-based financial assistance. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.gov and the TU financial aid application can be downloaded from www.utulsa.edu/financialaid. Transfer students may be considered for academic scholarships on the basis of their cumulative college grade point average.

  • Accepts Transfers:
    The University of Tulsa welcomes students who wish to transfer from another college or university. Anyone who has taken college coursework after receiving a high school diploma or G.E.D. is considered a transfer student.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A student’s previous academic record is the most reliable predictor, so a college cumulative grade point average of 2.75 is recommended for best consideration.
  • Official Transcripts:
    If you have less than 48 semester credits completed, an official transcript is required. Official transcripts must be sent directly from each college previously attended to the Office of Admission.
  • SAT Scores:
    Applicants with less than 30 semester credits must submit score reports from the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I) or the American College Test (ACT).
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Recommendations are not required.
  • Essay:
    Please submit a statement describing your academic background and your goals. Address pertinent life experiences, accomplishments, and reasons for wanting to attend The University of Tulsa.
  • Application Fee:
    A nonrefundable $50 application fee should accompany the application.
  • Interview:
    An Interview with an admission counselor is encouraged, but not required.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Credit earned from accredited colleges and universities is generally transferable if a grade of C or better has been earned in the course and if The University of Tulsa offers a comparable course.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 62 semester hours may be transferred from a two-year college. Upper division credit will not be granted for courses taken at two-year institutions.
