    UNI will accept a maximum of 16 hours of Technical/Vocational credit. It transfers pass/fail - and therefore does not affect GPA. The credits are applied toward university elective hours.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Minimum 2.00 GPA for those with 60+ semester hours; Minimum 2.25 GPA for those with 42-59 semester hours; Minimum 2.5 GPA for those with 41 or less semester hours.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Applicants who have less then 24 transferable college credits completed must submit official high school transcripts. Official transcripts from previously attended institutions are required of all for admission consideration.
  • SAT Scores:
    Standardized test scores are required of applicants who have less then 24 transferable college credits completed.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Statement of good standing from prior institution(s) is not required for admission consideration.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required for admission consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $40 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required for admission consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    Some majors have additional entrance requirements which may include higher GPA standards. Therefore, it is possible for students to be eligible for admission to the University, but not meet entrance requirements for their anticipated major.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a D- or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Applicants must have a min number of 24 credits completed to be considered a transfer student. Max number of credits that may be transferred from a 2-year school is 65. Students must earn a minimum of 32 credits at UNI to graduate.
