Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer student applicants must have a 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative grade point average and a 2.0 GPA in their most recent term of attendance at a post secondary institution. Many colleges have higher GPA requirements for admission to NEBRASKA. Students who do not meet college specific requirements will be admitted to General Studies.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Contact your high school to have them submit your official high school transcripts. Contact each post secondary institution that you have attended to request your official transcripts sent to the Office of Admissions.
  • SAT Scores:
    Any student who transfers to UNL with fewer than twelve semester hours of college credit or who has post secondary credit earned before high school graduation must meet the freshman admission requirements.
  • Essay:
    An essay is not required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $45 application fee.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required.
  • Other Requirements:
    Nebraska Residents Only. To be considered for Transfer Scholarships, please submit the Personal Statement Form.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is D.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    No more than 60 semester or 90 quarter credits earned at two-year colleges can be applied to an undergraduate degree from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. You must earn 30 credits at UNL to receive your bachelor's degree.
