Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Highest priority for admission is given to California resident junior-level applicants from California community colleges. Preference will also be given to community college students who have participated in academically selective honors courses or programs. Junior level transfer applicants from four-year colleges, including other UC campuses and lower division transfer applicants, may be considered as space permits.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official college and high school transcripts are required of all admission applicants.
  • SAT Scores:
    Standardized test scores are not required.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is required with your application.
  • Application Fee:
    Once you have completed the online application, submit it along with the nonrefundable application fee of $70 for domestic applicants or $80 for international applicants.
  • Interview:
    A personal interview is not required.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a C.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The maximum credits that are accepted for transfer are 105 quarter units. You must earn 36 credits at Irvine to earn a bachelor's degree.
