Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The average minimum GPA for fall transfer admission is between 3.6 - 4.0.
  • Official Transcripts:

  • SAT Scores:
    Standardized test scores are not required.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is required with your application.
  • Application Fee:
    The basic application fee of $60 entitles you to apply to one University campus.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required.
  • Other Requirements:
    You must select a major, as your application for admission will be reviewed based on the completion of prerequisite courses for a particular academic program at Berkeley. All applicants must have completed the general education requirements.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In general, credit may be granted for courses when a grade of at least a D has been earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The max credits accepted for transfer from a 2-year institution is 70 semester, 80 from a 4-year. You must complete 60 credits in residence at Berkeley to earn your bachelor's degree.
