Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    Submit official transcripts from all regionally accredited institutions of higher learning that you've attended. If you have earned fewer than 12 semester hours or 15 quarter hours, please submit your high school transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you're under age 21, please submit ACT or SAT scores along with your high school transcripts.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable $40 application fee. The application fee is waved for people who have served in the military.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The University of Akron awards transfer credit for non-remedial, non-developmental college-level coursework completed with earned grades of “D-“ or better at an institution of higher learning in the United States which is fully regionally accredited.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    You must earn the last 32 credits in the baccalaureate degree total or 16 credits in the associate degree total in residence at The University of Akron to receive your degree.
