River Falls (population 12,500) is located in the scenic St. Croix Valley along the west-central Wisconsin border. The campus is just 30 miles east of the Twin Cities, St. Paul/Minneapolis. UW-River Falls provides the advantages of a small town environment with access to the cultural and educational opportunities of a metropolitan area. At 6,900 students, UW-River Falls is large enough to provide you with a variety of academic programs, study-abroad, internship and extracurricular opportunities, yet small enough that your average class sizes will range from 25-35 students.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    In order to transfer to River Falls students are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Some specific majors require a higher GPA. Please consult the following webpage for more information: http://www.uwrf.edu/Admissions/TransferStandards.cfm
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from each institution that you have previously attended are required for admission.
  • SAT Scores:
    We do not require test scores for admission unless you are transferring with fewer than 30 credits. At that point we would require the ACT or SAT along with a high school transcript.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Not required.
  • Essay:
    This is required as a part of the application.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $44 application fee unless you are transferring directly from one of our 2 year UW Campuses.
  • Interview:
    Not Required.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Transferrable courses will have a grade of "D" or higher unless you are transferring into the College of Business and Economics. This college does not allow any grade less than a "C" to transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 30 credits can be transferred from a technical college. 72 from a two year community college and there is no limit on credits from a 4 year regionally accredited institution.
