Financial Information

• Scholarships and Financial Aid:
  Federal aid is the most common type of financial aid awarded by Financial Aid Offices across the nation. A student’s eligibility for federal aid is determined by the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Transfer scholarships are awarded to students during the fall and spring semesters.
• Tuition and Fees:
  Estimated Cost of Attendance: Tuition & Fees - $8,896 Resident, $10,896 Nonresident; Campus Housing - $7,136 Century Park North/South, $4,480 Wilber Hall; Meal Plan - $3,650-$4,100. All students living on campus must purchase a 7-Day meal plan.

Information for Transfer In Students

• Accepts Transfers:
  A transfer applicant can be admitted to Southern Miss through several different routes. Please note that admission to some academic programs may require students to meet additional requirements.

Transfer Application Requirements

• Minimum GPA:
  Students must have either an associate degree intended for transfer from a regionally accredited institution or have completed the 30 semester hours of designated coursework with a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average for admission.
• Official Transcripts:
  Transfer applicants must submit official college transcripts from all institutions previously attended. Transfer credits will be applied toward your degree. Official high school or home-school transcripts may be required of some applicants.
• SAT Scores:
  Standardized test scores may be required of some applicants.
• Application Fee:
  $40
• Other Requirements:
  A statement of good standing from prior institutions is required.

Transfer Credit Policy

• Minimum Grade:
  The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is D.
• Credits (Min/Max):
  A maximum of 64 semester credits may be transferred.
