  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    The USM Office of Financial Aid offers over $62 million in educational loans, grants, scholarships, and work-study programs to eligible students. USM awards a limited number of transfer scholarships to qualified entering transfer students.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A cumulative grade point of average of 2.0 is required for admission (applicants with course work completed at a non-regionally accredited institution must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75).
  • Official Transcripts:
    Applicants with 12 semester hours or more must submit official copies of collegiate and secondary school records. Official high school transcript or GED results are required(unless you have completed an associate's or bachelor's degree).
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT or ACT test results are required for students who have been graduated from high school for less than three years. Transfer candidates who have previously completed 10 or more courses (30 credits) may forego submitting standardized test scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    USM does not publish a requirement for letters of recommendation.
  • Essay:
    The submission of a personal essay is required with your application.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $40 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    USM does not publish a requirement for a personal interview.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In evaluating transfer credit, courses with grades of C- or higher taken at regionally accredited colleges and universities are considered for transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    There is a minumum requirement of 12 semester hours to apply as a transfer student.
