Founded in 1965, the University of Southern Indiana enrolls nearly 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students in 80 majors. A public higher education institution, located on a beautiful 1,400-acre campus in Evansville, Indiana, USI offers programs through the College of Liberal Arts, Romain College of Business, College of Nursing and Health Professions, and the Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education. USI is a Carnegie Foundation Community Engaged University and offers continuing education and special programs to more than 15,000 participants annually through its Division of Outreach and Engagement. The University offers study-abroad opportunities in more than 60 countries.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A minimum college grade point average of 2.00 is required of transfer applicants.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official high school (if you have fewer than 24 transferable hours) and college transcripts are required for admission consideration.
  • SAT Scores:
    Standardized test scores are not required for admissions consideration.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A statement of good standing from prior institution(s) is not required for admissions consideration.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required for admissions consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable $25 application fee.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a C- or higher
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Maximum number of credits or courses that may be transferred from a 2-year institution is 64, unlimited from a 4-year institution. You must earn 18 credits at Southern Indiana to earn an associate degree and 30 in residence for a bachelor's.
