USC Aiken, founded in 1961, is a four-year, public coeducational university offering undergraduate degree programs as well as four master's degree programs.     We receive approximately 1,100 applications per year (fall and spring semesters plus summer sessions).

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    24 semester hours of transferable college-level work with a 2.0+ cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Courses which are developmental, remedial, technical or vocational are not considered transferable.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts are required from ALL institutions attended, whether or not credit was earned and regardless of whether you wish to transfer any credit.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT scores are not required unless you have fewer than 24 semester hours of transferable college-level work.
  • Letters of Recommendation:

    If you have fewer than 24 semester hours of transferable college-level work, you must also submit your final high school transcript (and SAT/ACT scores if you are under the age of 21).

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Each course will be evaluated by the appropriate department chair/dean to determine whether to award credit towards the student's major. In general, credit is awarded when earned at a school accredited by a regional accrediting association.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    At least 25% of credit hours applicable toward the degree must be earned at USC Aiken. The senior year of work must be completed in residence and at least half of the credit hours in the major and minor (if applicable) must be earned at USC Aiken.
