  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    No student should avoid college because he or she doesn't have the money! Last year, 86% of USAO's students received some type of financial aid assistance. The total of that aid for that year was $9,935,973. The first step for most students seeking aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For the FAFSA, students will need to know USAO' s "Federal Title IV Code Number.": 003167.

    A transfer student is any undergraduate who has attempted more than 6 credit hours, excluding "0-level" courses and pre-college work, such as concurrent hours earned in high school.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A student transferring from another Oklahoma System institution must be in good standing at that institution. In addition to the general education requirements, specific programs or fields may call for particular GPAs.
  • Official Transcripts:
    If you have earned fewer than 24 credit hours, the Registrar will require a high school transcript. Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have earned fewer than 24 credit hours, the Registrar will require official ACT scores.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    For transfer courses to count toward the major or general education core a grade of at least a ā€œCā€ must be earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 62 credit hours of junior college coursework may count toward the baccalaureate degree at USAO. You must earn 30 semester hours in residence at USAO to receive your bachelor's degree.
