The University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College provides programs in the liberal arts, sciences, business, teacher education, fine and performing arts, nursing, and technologies. Granting associate, bachelor and master's degrees, our diverse curriculum offers a range of educational opportunities with open access at a reasonable cost. Students can choose from over 60 academic programs. Rio Grande offers its students a vibrant campus life, including nine social fraternities and sororities; numerous professional and community organizations; hundreds of planned campus activities a year; an active intramural sports program; and outlets for artistic expression.

  • Accepts Transfers:
    Each year, transfer students make up more than 25% of our entering class.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    Students who have attended another college can be admitted, provided a transcript of all college or university credits. Students holding a college degree are not required to submit a high school transcript.
  • SAT Scores:
    Results from the American College Test (ACT) are required ONLY for selected academic programs, scholarships and athletic programs.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $25 non-refundable application fee (waived with online submission).
  • Interview:
    A personal interview is recommended.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Transfer work in the area of the major or minor program or teacher education with a grade of ā€œDā€ will be transferred however, they may not meet degree requirements if a grade of C or better is required.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The University of the Rio Grande does not publish a minumum/maximum number for credits that qualify for transfer credit.
