    The Office of Financial Aid offers financial assistance to more than 80 percent of the student body. Assistance can be in the form of grants, loans and work-study.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The average GPA of entering transfer students in 2008 was 3.21.
  • Official Transcripts:
    The submission of your official high school transcript is required if you have less than 24 transferrable credits, in addition to official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have less than 24 transferrable credits, the submission of official SAT/ACT scores is required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    The Instructor Evaluation form should be completed by an academic instructor. Transfer students who haven't attended school for some time and are unable to request an academic recommendation should contact an Admissions Counselor to discuss options.
  • Essay:
    A short writing answer elaborating on your extracurricular activities/work experience, as well has a personal essay, are both required with your application.
  • Application Fee:
    The application fee is $30 for an online application and $40 for a printed application.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required for admission consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    Some students, including those planning to participate in specialty programs within the university, must submit additional applications or forms. These include: School of Music, Johnston Center for Integrative Studies and Homeschooled Students.

    Grades that will be considered good for transferring will be a C or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Students may transfer up to 66 units from a 2-year school and 96 units from a 4-year college or university.

    The university has established articulation agreements with local community colleges for acceptable courses that will both transfer and fulfill specific Liberal Arts Foundation requirements.
