    The university actively joins in partnership with students and families to help finance a Puget Sound education. About two-thirds of the students enrolled at Puget Sound receive need-based assistance. Merit scholarships range from $4,000 to $17,000 each.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Puget Sound requires a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0. (The average grade point for entering transfers is 3.35).
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official College Transcripts from each college or university you have previously attended should be sent directly to Puget Sound. If you have completed less than a year of college coursework are required to submit final high school transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    Transfer students who have completed less than a year of college coursework are required to submit SAT/ACT scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    The College Instructor Evaluation should be completed and sent to Puget Sound by an instructor at your current institution, or the one you attended most recently. The College Official's Report is also required.
  • Essay:
    There are required essays on both the Common Application for Transfer Students and the Puget Sound Transfer Supplement.
  • Interview:
    We do not require that students have an interview, but it is recommended.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Students may transfer a maximum of 16 units. One Puget Sound unit is equal to six quarter credits or four semester credits, allowing students to transfer 96 quarter credits or 64 semester credits.
