Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    In recent years, the average GPA for admitted students is 3.70
  • Official Transcripts:
    An official college transcript must be sent to the Admissions Office directly from each college attended by the application deadline. An official final high school transcript is also required.
  • SAT Scores:
    An Official SAT or ACT score report is required. We will accept scores listed on an official high school transcript.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    We strongly recommend that you submit one letter of recommendation from a professor or teaching assistant at your current institution. A College Official's Report is required.
  • Essay:
    A well-crafted personal statement explaining your interest in Notre Dame, your academic and professional goals, and how transferring to Notre Dame can help you achieve them is required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $65 non-refundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    Notre Dame does not offer personal interviews as part of the application process.
  • Other Requirements:
    Course descriptions for each course taken. Please do not send course catalogs. Science & Engineering require a copy of the course syllabus from each course. The College of Arts and Letters strongly encourages syllabi in addition to descriptions.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Credits will only transfer if a B or better has been earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Applicants must have completed at least 27 transferable credits. A max of 60 credits are accepted for transfer. You must earn 60 credits at Notre Dame to earn a bachelor's degree.
