The University of North Georgia was formed through the consolidation of North Georgia College & State University and Gainesville State College, two of the top-performing schools in the University System of Georgia, in January 2013.     Our mission is to provide financial aid information and services to students in a way that is understandable, responsive to needs, and in compliance with federal and state regulations.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A minimum grade point average of all credits accepted for transfer must average at least 2.00.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Must submit an official transcript to the Admissions Office from each college or university previously attended. If you have earned fewer than 30 semester hours of transferable college credit you must also submit official high school transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    All traditional freshman transfers (who graduated high school during the last five years and have earned fewer than 30 semester hours of credit) must submit official SAT or ACT test scores in order to be considered for admission.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Applicant must be in good standing with previously attended institution or will have to serve a one-semester suspension before they are considered for admission.
  • Application Fee:
    Paper applications for admission is $35. Electronically submitted application for admission is $25.
  • Other Requirements:
    All transfer applicants must submit their immunization record.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Transfer students are required to earn a grade of C or better in English 1101 and 1102 (or equivalents) in order for these courses to transfer. Other courses earned at accredited institutions may be permitted to transfer with grades of "D" or higher.
