Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Only a student's credits transfer to the University of New Haven. Grade point average (GPA) does not transfer. Transfer students begin a new GPA at the University of New Haven.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Submit official transcripts from all the colleges/universities that you have attended. If you have completed less than 24 total earned credits from your previous college(s), you must submit an official copy of your secondary/high school transcript.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have completed less than 24 total earned credits from your previous college(s) you must submit official test scores for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT) from the testing center.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Transfer students have the option to submit at least one letter of recommendation.
  • Essay:
    Transfer students have the option to submit a personal essay.
  • Application Fee:
    The application fee when applying for admission is $75.00 for students submitting a paper copy and $25.00 if submitting online.
  • Interview:
    The University of New Haven does not publish a requirement for an interview.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Course grade must be a "C" or better. Credit is not awarded for pass/fail courses.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Students may transfer a maximum of 60 credits from two-year institutions and a maximum of 90 credits from four-year institutions. A student's final 30 credits must be earned in residency at UNH.
