Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Montevallo has a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale). Quality points are not included in a transfer review.
  • Official Transcripts:
    The submission of official college transcripts is required. You will not be considered if you are on probation or suspension at the previous college.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have less than 24 hours of transfer credit, Montevallo requires the submission of official SAT and/or ACT scores.
  • Essay:
    Only necessary upon request.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $30 non-refundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    Only necessary if requested.
  • Other Requirements:
    Students transferring from a two-ear college who wish to be considered for merit-based transfer scholarships must apply before June 1.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The minimum grade required for transfer credit is "D."
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    You must have 24 semester hours to apply as a transfer student and a maximum of 64 credits.
