  • Accepts Transfers:
    At the University of Maine at Farmington, you're considered a Transfer Student if you have ever enrolled in a degree program at another college or if you have accumulated 12 college credits or more as a non-degree student.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The minimum cumulative GPA for transfer into most academic programs at UMF is 2.0, except for all Education programs and Rehabilitation Services, which require a cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Official Transcripts:
    We need your official college transcripts and high school transcripts mailed directly from the institutions.
  • SAT Scores:
    Applicants should have official test score reports sent directly from the testing service.
  • Essay:
    Please submit a personal essay regarding your academic goals and objectives, or on a subject of personal choice.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable $40 application fee.
  • Interview:
    An in-person visit and interview will allow us to become better acquainted with you, and for you to become better acquainted with us. We’d also like to show you around our campus and answer any questions you may have.
  • Other Requirements:

    Typically, college-level coursework will transfer to Farmington if you have earned a C- or better in the general elective classes.
