Financial Information

• Scholarships and Financial Aid:
  Transfer students may apply for Scholarships. For Financial Aid complete a FAFSA by March 15. Contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at 217-333-0100 or finaid@uiuc.edu.

• Accepts Transfers:
  Yes, transfer students may earn advanced standing by transferring credits earned from course work completed at other colleges/universities.

Transfer Application Requirements

• Minimum GPA:
  Minimum GPA requirements vary by program. Visit the Admissions' website for a complete list.
• Official Transcripts:
  Official transcripts are required from each college and/or university you have attended. Official high school transcripts are required to verify graduation.
• SAT Scores:
  It’s required that you send us a standardized test score if you have less than 30 graded transferable semester hours of college coursework at the time of application.
• Letters of Recommendation:
  Please do not send unsolicited information such as letters of recommendation. That documentation will NOT be added to your file.
• Essay:
  Applicants are also required to answer one essay question on the application and are given an opportunity to submit additional information.
• Application Fee:
  Please submit a nonrefundable $50 application fee ($60 for international applicants), payable to the University of Illinois, or a completed fee waiver from your college’s financial aid office.
• Interview:
  Not required for admissions consideration.
• Other Requirements:
  Some programs require specific course prerequisites, a higher GPA, auditions and/or portfolios.

Transfer Credit Policy

• Minimum Grade:
  In general, credit may be granted for courses where a grade of at least a D has been earned.
• Credits (Min/Max):
  You must earn 60 credits at UIUC to earn a bachelor's degree.
