Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer students should have completed 24 college-level semester credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.0 to be eligible for admission.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Students transferring from outside the UH system must arrange for all official college transcripts to be sent. Those who have completed fewer than 24 acceptable semester hours must also submit their high school transcript.
  • SAT Scores:
    Those who have completed fewer than 24 acceptable semester hours must also submit SAT or ACT results.
  • Essay:
    University of Hawaii at Hilo does not publish a requirement for an essay or personal statement.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $50 nonrefundable application fee.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    A D is accepted if you are coming from a UH System schools. If you are coming from any other school, the minimum grade accepted for transfer credit is a C-.
