Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer consideration requirements are subject to change for each semester as the University reviews space availability for that term. Different GPA baselines are set depending on the hours that transfer into the University of Georgia, with a change in class standing every 30 semester hours.
  • Official Transcripts:
    College transcript(s) from every institution attended are required, including work completed through joint or dual enrollment programs, through study abroad work, or through work completed as a summer transient or any other program.
  • SAT Scores:
    The submission of standardized test scores may be required of some.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $60 non-refundable application fee.
  • Other Requirements:
    Applicants must be in good academic standing at their current institution. Some colleges and departments have limits on the number of students in their programs, so an applicant’s intended major might be a factor in the admission decision.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is 65.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    You must earn 45 credits in residence at UGA to receive your bachelor's degree.
