The University of Florida (UF) is a major, public, comprehensive, land-grant, research university. The state’s oldest and most comprehensive university, UF is among the nation’s most academically diverse public universities. UF has a long history of established programs in international education, research and service. It is one of only 17 public, land-grant universities that belongs to the Association of American Universities. UF has a 2,000-acre campus and more than 900 buildings (including 170 with classrooms and laboratories).   • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    The mission of the Office for Student Financial Affairs is to enhance recruitment and retention of students through research and support of financial aid programs while assisting parents and students in planning for and meeting higher education expenses.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A minimum C average, as computed by the university. Any student who has failed to maintain a 2.0 GPA at another institution after completing the AA degree is not eligible for admission.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Submit all high school and postsecondary transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT With Writing test scores are required for freshmen/sophomore transfers and those applying to teacher certification programs.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required for admissions consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    Submit the online UF application and $30 nonrefundable application fee six to nine months before the term begins.
  • Interview:
    Auditions may be required for some majors.
  • Other Requirements:
    Transfer Application deadlines vary by program. Submit documentation of two sequential courses of foreign language in secondary school or 8-10 sequential semester hours at the postsecondary level.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In general, credit may be granted for courses taken at accredited institutions where the curriculum reasonable parallels that at UF and a grade of at least a D has been earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    In general, students may transfer up to 60 credit hours from community colleges as part of the hours needed for their UF degrees. It is the prerogative of the student’s UF college to determine how transfer credit satisfies the degree’s requirements.
