The Stamford Campus of the University of Connecticut was founded in 1951, to provide education for GIs returning from the Korean War. It is currently located at One University Place, at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Broad Street in downtown Stamford and is easily accessible by car, train, or bus. The campus offers four-year undergraduate degrees in ten majors: American Studies, Business and Technology, Digital Media Design, Economics, English, General Studies, Human Development and Family Studies, History, Political Science, and Psychology. At the graduate level, the campus offers the Master of Business Administration (MBA), and the Master of Science in Financial Risk Management (MSFRM) degrees, etc.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The minimum college grade point average required of transfer applicants is 2.7, (NOTE: Certain programs with limited enrollment require a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for consideration).
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official high school and previously attended college transcripts are required of all for admission consideration.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have fewer than 12 transferable credit hours, the submission of official SAT/ACT scores is required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    UConn doesn't publish a requirement for letters of recommendation; however, a statement of good standing from your prior institution might be requested.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is required of all for admission consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    Nonrefundable $70 application fee.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required for admission consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    Some performance majors require auditions; studio art programs require portfolios.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In general, courses that are comparable to those offered at UConn and completed at regionally accredited, degree-granting institutions are transferable with a grade of C (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) or better.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A transfer applicant have a minimum number of 12 credits completed or else must apply as an entering freshman. Maximum number of credits or courses that may be transferred is 90. You must earn 30 credit hours at UConn to earn a bachelor's degree.
