Information for Transfer In Students

  • Accepts Transfers:
    The University of Colorado Denver welcomes transfer students and will work with you personally to be sure your transfer is smooth and successful. Each year, approximately 50% of our new undergraduate students are transferring from other institutions.
  • Transfer Agreements:
    State of Colorado GT Pathways courses are guaranteed to transfer and apply to degree requirements. Colorado community college students have statewide transfer agreements and transfer with junior standing with an associate of arts or science degree.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Minimum cumulative college grade point average required of transfer applicants for general admission consideration is 2.40.
  • Official Transcripts:
    An official transcript from each previously attended college or university is required. An official high school transcript is required for studentss with fewer than 30 completed semester credits.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT scores are required for students with fewer than 13 completed semester credits.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Letters of recommendation may be submitted, but are not required.
  • Essay:
    Essays may be submitted, but are not required.
  • Application Fee:
    $50.00 non-refundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    Not required for admission consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    Students must be in good standing and able to return to previous institutions. CU Denver may deny admission to applicants whose credentials indicate an inability to assume obligations of performance and behavior deemed essential by the university.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a C- or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Maximum number of credits or courses that may be transferred from a two-year institution: 60 semester credit hours. Maximum number of credits or courses that may be transferred from a four-year institution: 90 semester credit hours.
